The use of the branches that feed the Asi River passing through Hatay borders for agricultural irrigation in summer and insufficient rainfall cause a decrease in the amount of water coming to the Asi River and the increase of waste inputs in terms of organic matter. This creates a favorable environment for invasive plant species, such as water hyacinths, and causes the surface of the river to be covered with invasive plants and narrows the habitat of living populations.

Investigations and theoretical trainings are continuing in Asi River within the scope of the technical support project which started on 25.11.2019 and is planned to last for 5 days to make investigations on the invading plants on the Asi River. Within the scope of technical support; The Asi River and its tributaries are examined, and the studies that should be applied in river cleaning with solid waste containment systems will be planned in an appropriate and systematic manner. Project; will include conservative approaches that will not harm the ecosystem and will not disrupt the natural structure.
